Supporting Krita

Krita is free, you don’t need to purchase anything to use it. If you enjoy Krita and want to support its continued development or work in a company that relies on it, there are ways to support it though.

Donations

Donating to Krita is the way that most of your money actually arrives. It has the least amount of fees and less taxes.

You can make regular, repeating donations via the Krita Development Fund. There is also an option for corporations and other organizations to sponser Krita this way.

For one-time donations, take a look at the donation page on krita.org. You can donate via credit card, PayPal, bank transfer and other regional options.

Purchases

You can buy Krita on various online stores:

• Krita on Steam

• Krita on the Epic Games Store

• Krita on the Microsoft Store

• Krita on the App Store for Mac

If you purchase one these versions, you get auto-updates via the store you purchased it from. Steam also gives you some cloud storage. The program itself is the same, there are no features locked behind a paywall.

You can also purchase some resource packs, training materials and more on the shop page on krita.org.

Android Supporter Packs

On Android, there are support options in the application itself through Google Play. If you are using a device without Google services, they will not be available. Development or nightly builds do not have them either.

All supporter packs let you download resource bundles with brushes, templates and more directly in the application. There is a subscription available, which gives you access to all resource bundles. If you prefer not entering into a subscription, there is also one-time purchase packs that give you a fixed set of bundles instead.

Subscriptions are managed through Google Play, you can unsubscribe or pause your subscription there. Krita also provides links to manage your subscription that send you directly to the right place in the Google Play application.

As with the versions of Krita you can buy on online stores, no features are locked behind a subscription or purchase, you can still manually import resource bundles. The supporter packs just provide some extra convenience.
